The Artist
From the inside, outward.
LizarMusic is a deeply personal project by Xabier Lizartzategi.
Every song starts somewhere real.
A conversation. A memory. A question I keep coming back to. A moment with my family. An adventure. Loss. Love. Pain. Joy. My daughter. A relationship. History. The past. The future. The absurd things that make us laugh. The difficult things that make us change.
But the songs also come from a path that has been growing for years — through experience, self-knowledge, personal work, studies, books, reading, music, conversations, mistakes, discoveries and everything I have learned from the people and the world around me.
Sometimes a song begins with something very small. Sometimes with something that has stayed with me for years. Sometimes different pieces of life, learning and experience suddenly connect and become a song.
I write because it helps me understand what I feel, what I believe, what I have lived and who I am becoming.
The lyrics come first
The lyrics and concepts behind LizarMusic are personal.
They explore how we grow, how we deal with loss, how relationships shape us, how we build meaning, how we can improve the world around us and how a life is made from thousands of apparently ordinary moments.
Some songs are philosophical.
Some are intimate.
Some are optimistic.
Some hurt.
Some are simply fun.
But they all come from somewhere inside me.
A visual language of my own
The artwork is part of the same process.
Much of it grows from my own paintings, photography, illustration and visual experiments. For years I have worked across photography, digital media, illustration, design and creative direction, exploring how an idea can move from one medium into another.
With LizarMusic, an idea can begin as a sentence, become a lyric, turn into an image and finally find a completely different life through sound.
Technology is the instrument, not the story
I use AI as part of the musical creation process.
It allows me to explore melodies, arrangements, instruments and radically different musical styles in ways that would once have required resources far beyond the reach of a personal project.
But the technology is just an enhancement.
The experiences are human.
The lyrics are personal.
The artwork begins with my own creative work.
The choices, taste, direction and meaning are mine.
AI gives those ideas a voice.
Why I make these concerts
LizarMusic is a living process. A way to express who I am, to understand what I feel, and to evolve into who I am becoming.
And if something I create can make another person stop for a moment, remember something, smile, think differently, feel understood or imagine a better possibility, then the project has travelled further than me.
My ambition is clear:
to grow through what I create, to positively influence the people and environment around me, and to contribute, in whatever small way I can, to a better world.
That is what these concerts are really about.
